The NOVA Expo 2025: Uniting All Sectors to Drive Economic Growth and Advocate for Climate Legislation
Bangkok, Thailand – The construction industry is one of the key drivers of Thailand’s economy, generating trillions of baht annually. However, it is also a major contributor to carbon dioxide emissions, which accelerate global warming. By leveraging technology, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration, the industry has the potential to minimize its environmental impact and play a crucial role in Thailand’s sustainable development.
In response to the global green transition, EEC Academy by EEC Engineering Network has organized The NOVA Expo 2025, the most comprehensive event showcasing cutting-edge construction technologies and innovations. With participation from over 100 local and international companies, the expo features expert seminars aimed at tackling environmental challenges. Held from March 12–14, 2025, at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangna, the event is expected to generate billions of baht in economic value.
Dr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich Director General Department of Climate Change and Environment, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the importance of climate action. He highlighted Thailand’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40–60% by 2035 as part of its pledge to the COP summits and its goal of achieving carbon neutrality. To support these efforts, the department is developing a Climate Change Act, which aims to mitigate climate impacts while enhancing Thailand’s global competitiveness. The NOVA Expo 2025 is a key initiative aligning with these national and international commitments.
Green Innovation Revolution & Green Data Center: A Vision for the Future
Dr. Kecha Thirakomen, Chairman of EEC Engineering Network, outlined the expo’s mission under the theme “Green Innovation Revolution & Green Data Center.” The event aims to introduce the most comprehensive range of green building innovations, architectural technologies, and sustainable urban development solutions in Thailand. By focusing on carbon reduction and resource efficiency, The NOVA Expo 2025 fosters collaboration across government agencies, private enterprises, and academic institutions, driving Thailand’s construction industry toward a sustainable future. With a market value of 1.5–2 trillion baht annually, the industry is projected to grow by 10–15% in 2025 while addressing its 30–50 million tons of annual carbon emissions.
Showcasing Sustainable Innovation and Knowledge Sharing
The event features interactive exhibitions, including:
• Net-Zero Carbon Building Pavilion showcasing sustainable architecture.
• Outstanding Sustainable Development Projects exhibition.
• CECI (Circular Economy in Construction Industry) showcase, highlighting waste reduction strategies.
• NOVA Tour, guiding attendees through breakthrough green innovations from over 100 companies.
One of the highlights is the Go Green innovation showcase, featuring Cooling as a Service technology, a game-changer for energy efficiency in buildings and condominiums. Additionally, the Stage and Conference sessions bring together leading experts from Thailand and abroad, covering topics such as:
• The Breakthrough: Data Centers & Digital Transformation for Thailand
• Building Enhancement: The Greenest Future & Zero-Carbon Opportunities
• Future of Clean Air: Innovations for a Pollution-Free World
• Climate Finance & Thailand Taxonomy: Bank of Thailand’s Policies on Climate Crisis Mitigation
• Engineering Council’s Nine-Point Action Plan for Net-Zero Carbon Goals
The Nova Community: A Collective Movement for Green Innovation
Dr. Kecha emphasized that a major obstacle to the adoption of green innovations is the lack of initiative. To address this, The Nova Community has emerged as a network of like-minded individuals and organizations committed to sustainability, growing stronger with each passing year.
Additionally, the event featured keynote addresses, including Mr.Pavich Kesavawong, Deputy Director General Department of Climate Change and Environment, discussing “Challenges and Opportunities for Thai Businesses under the Climate Change Act.” This legislation is set to be a key mechanism in steering Thailand toward a sustainable economy and supporting environmental investments through the establishment of a Climate Resilience Fund.
Dr. Twarath Sutabutr, President of the Office of Knowledge Management and Development (OKMD) delivered a special address on “Smart & Learning Cities: Sustainable Development Through Innovation”, emphasizing the role of IoT and digital platforms in transforming cities beyond mere living spaces into thriving, equitable, and environmentally responsible communities.
The NOVA Expo 2025: Pioneering Thailand’s Green Future
The NOVA Expo 2025: Green Innovation for a Sustainable World is Thailand’s first and only event dedicated to providing both theoretical knowledge and practical solutions for a greener future. The event took place from March 12–14, 2025, at Halls 103–104, BITEC, Bangna, Bangkok, setting a new benchmark in Thailand’s journey toward sustainability.
